CAL SELLS FIELD NAMING RIGHTS TO KABAM

When the University of California Golden Bears football team comes out of the locker room at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, Calif., they won’t just be setting foot on a football field, they’ll be trotting onto a new-age sponsorship deal. The university announced this week that Cal’s players will now be trotting across Kabam Field.

Cal, Kabam Form 15-year Partnership

BERKELEY – The University of California, Berkeley, the world’s top public university, and Kabam, Inc., the western world’s leader in free-to-play mobile games for traditional players, today announced a long-term partnership that includes the naming rights to the field at California Memorial Stadium. Additional elements include a scholarship program, an internship program, speaking engagements and other partnerships on campus around innovation and technology.

The Univ. of California-Berkeley has signed mobile video game producer Kabam to a 15-year, $18M deal for field naming rights at its football stadium. The official name is now Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium, the first college sports facility to be named for a video game company.
