INTERN, Sales & Marketing, October 24th, 2011

Reports to: Director, Business Development

Location: New York, NY (preferred)

Position Overview: This position will have two areas of responsibility. The primary responsibility of this position is to work directly with the New York sales team and their clients on the successful implementation of various responsibilities within the sales cycle including: market research, prospecting, introductory communications, etc. Secondarily, this position will be responsible for conducting administrative tasks related to partnership development for the sales team.

Qualifications:

  • Successful candidate should have work/educational experience in marketing or related field
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and solve problems creatively
  • Interest in sports business is a plus
  • Excellent project management and administrative skills
  • Working knowledge of web, graphic design and database software is a plus
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and/or database development and research skills

Scope of Internship:

The unpaid internship will be for the duration of the 2011 Fall Semester and candidates should expect to work at least 15 hours per week.  Educational credit is available through this program. Company reimburses for pre-approved job related expenses (meeting travel, office-related purchases, etc.). This internship program will provide an opportunity to work with some of the industry’s top executives, teams, sponsors and other sports properties.

Note:

Candidates should expect to gain excellent technical, consulting, marketing and project management skills and be exposed to exciting and challenging projects in the sports industry. Confidentiality agreement is required.
