Position Description: Director, Consulting Business Development

Reports To: Vice President, Consulting & Valuation

Location: Chicago, IL

Premier Partnerships helps rights-holders optimize their sponsorship revenue through consulting and sales representation.

Position Overview: The Director, Consulting Business Development will be tasked with securing consulting clients in the world of sports and entertainment. The successful candidate will be able to prospect successfully for properties to which Premier’s consulting team can provide their services. The Director, Consulting Business Development will also work closely with the Consulting & Valuation team in order to further refine the offering to prospective clients and act, where necessary, in a client relationship development role.

Responsibilities:

  • Research potential new clients

  • Undertake outreach to prospective clients through phone and email

  • Produce pitch decks detailing the Consulting & Valuation offering of Premier Partnerships

  • Successfully pitch and close new business for the Consulting & Valuation practice

  • Maintain and update a pipeline of new and continuing conversations with prospective clients

  • Work with the Consulting & Valuation team to refine their offering in tune with market trends, etc.

Required Characteristics:

  • Proven ability to pitch and close new business

  • Ability to establish and maintain an honest and effective working relationship with the Premier team and our clients

  • Overall, act as a key member of Premier’s team and perform a key role in maintaining our position within the industry as an expert in sponsorship valuation and consulting

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Hard-working, innovative, enthusiastic, creative, smart, professional, resilient, driven, self-starter and honest

  • Sets the highest possible standards and goals at all times

  • Willing and able to travel as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 8 years of sales experience with proven success in sponsorship sales

  • Solid client list with high-level contacts at large and midsize properties with sponsorship programs

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Multitask in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work solo or as part of a team

  • Sports industry experience desired

  • Account management experience desired

  • Bachelor’s degree required
